WOW! Fans Raise Over 70000 Euros to Help Paralysed Irish UFC Fighter- Doctors Confident He Will Walk Again

There is no sport more intense than MMA and there is nothing more gritty than a fighter who gives it all up for the love of the sport. An example of this is the Irish MMA fighter, Ian Coughlan.

A fighter from Dublin who boasts an amateur record of 4 wins and 1 loss, Coughlan’s professional record stands at 1 win and 1 loss.

This up-and-coming fighter suffered a horrific injury to his spine that left him paralyzed and unable to walk. Doctors had to tell him that he would need to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Furthermore, they informed him that he would also have to hire carers to help him with daily tasks.

However, the fighter wants to walk and his family is doing everything they can to help him raise money for a surgery that might help him walk again. They have set up a GoFundMe fundraiser.

According to the fundraiser, the family has been in touch with doctors in Germany that specialize in the field of spinal surgery.

The fundraiser read, “With this new fundraising campaign, we are hoping to cover Ian’s Stem Cell and HAL treatments, which will cost €73,000 in total. The doctors are confident that they will have Ian walking again, but at a bare minimum, the treatment will enable him to regain some independence.”

Good news for Ian Coughlan

UFC fighters, including Conor McGregor and Johnny Walker, are a few who made sizable donations to the fundraiser. McGregor, who donated 10,000, is the fundraiser’s top donator.

The fundraiser crossed €73,000 earlier today and Coughlan will most likely be able to walk again or gain some independence.

The fundraiser read,” Ian is a fighter at heart, he is driven, he is ambitious and he has a fire in his soul that is burning stronger than ever before. He has an abundance of life to live. He has a lot to give, and he needs us to help him in this most important fight of his life.”

Through the support of the fans of the sport, he will get a second chance in life, which most people never do. Hence, one can say that Coughlan has really had a Christmas miracle.
