On the other hand, Leclerc has been with the team since 2019 and has managed to bring in crucial results. However, Sainz was able to outshine the Monegasque racing driver in his first season.

The former McLaren driver bagged four podiums and had 164.5 points to his name; finishing fifth in the driver’s championship. Whereas Leclerc was able to achieve two pole positions, and one podium, finishing the season in seventh place with 159 points.

Where did Ferrari finish in the constructor standings?

The 2020 season was a horrible year for the Maranello-based squad, as they were only able to bag 131 points resulting in them finishing sixth in the teams’ standings.

In 2021, they had hope as they had the likes of Sainz and Leclerc behind the wheel. Both drives pushed themselves to the limit in order to redeem the Italian team this season.

As the season came to an end, Ferrari had bagged a total of 323.5 courtesy of Sainz and Leclerc. This saw them finish the season in third place. With the 2022 season just a few months, the Italian team is pleased with the progress they made this season and will be aiming to fight for wins and podiums next year.
