Earthquake hits midland Texas and magnitude 4.3 quake leaves Lone Star State residents shaken

A 4.3 earthquake struck near Midland, Texas Monday, shaking the ground of the Lone Star state.

The quake reached a depth of 5km and was registered just after 7:55pm.

Unlike other states Texas is not known for earthquakes, so Monday’s came as a bit of a shock.

An earthquake Twitter account reported that there had been an earthquake in Texas.

“#Earthquake (#sismo) M4.3 strikes 44 km NE of #Midland (#Texas) 11 min ago,” they wrote.

Other users took to Twitter to report on how rare an earthquake in Texas is.

“We just had an earthquake in west Texas. That’s something we don’t experience often,” another user wrote.
