WATCH: Rafael Nadal Gives Fans Something To Cheer About After Latest Setback Ahead of Australian Open 2022

Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has unfortunately been on the sidelines since August due to a foot injury. As a result, he missed the US Open and had earlier missed Wimbledon as well.  

There were encouraging signs as Rafa returned to compete professionally in Abu Dhabi after his stint on the sidelines. He lost to Andy Murray at the Mubadala Tennis Championship, but it was great to see him compete once again. Sadly, he felt sick upon his return to Spain and as a result, there were concerns about whether he would be able to make it to Australia in time. 

Rafael Nadal is back doing what he does best 

Recently, there has been a positive update as Nadal was seen practicing on the hard indoor courts. There was a clip that was released which showed Rafa engaging in some hard-hitting rallies. It was a great sight to see the Spaniard on the courts again.

After this clip, fans will be optimistic about seeing Nadal travel to Australia. It is always a treat for spectators to witness their favorite players in action and for them to get a glimpse of the 2009 Australian Open champion will be a treat.

If he does compete Down Under, Nadal will be hoping to win his record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title.

Coming to the 2021 season, Rafa began the year by reaching the quarterfinal in Melbourne this season but lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas. After that, he lost in the semifinal to Djokovic at the French Open, which was a disappointment for the 13-time French Open champion.

Well, now that he is back on the courts once again, it will be great to see him step on the Rod Laver Arena at the Australian Open 2022. We wish him all the best and hope he decides to participate in Australia.
