TV’s sexiest moments in 2021 – from Michelle Keegan’s Brassic romp to dark desires and THAT Bridgerton scene

IT’S been a bonkbuster year for television.

From Bridgerton’s Dishy Duke to steamy series Sex/Life, we’ve been blessed with some sizzling scenes on the small screen.

Sex boffins at online adult shop Romantix collected data on each TV series using monthly search volume for the programmes’ raunchy scenes. 

Top of the class was Netflix’s Sex Education, scoring an impressive 95 points, and Bridgerton took the second spot with a score of 75.

But which scenes were steamiest?

Here sex expert Anabelle Knight ranks 2021’s most sizzling telly.

1. Brassic – Michelle Keegan and Damian Molony (Sky)

How could a list of steamiest scenes be put together without including Michelle Keegan’s saucy scene from Sky Comedy series Brassic?

This scene absolutely had to make the list thanks to the strong female character of Erin and her pleasure-seeking ways.

The position used here is classic cowgirl, or ‘woman on top.’

Michelle can be seen getting hers to extraordinary effect – while unfortunately leaving her partner dissatisfied.

This has to be on the list as underneath it all this scene is all about girl power and female pleasure, something that we definitely need to see more of in the new year.

2. Bridgerton – Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page (Netflix)

So technically this came out in December last year – but for a lots of us it was 2021 when we saw The Duke and Daphne’s sexually-charged journey.

By far, the best – and possibly most important scene – is the solo session Daphne enjoys when The Duke encourages her to explore her own body. 

Daphne takes his advice and sets to work.

The scene is sensual and romantic – as erotic memories and fantasies pass through Daphne’s mind’s eye, we really feel as though we’ve been taken on a journey of sexual self-discovery with her.

This scene helped viewers to see just how important self-pleasure is in order to have a happier and healthier sex life.

3. You – Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti (Netflix)

Sex, lust, and murder… just three of the reasons why Netflix’s You absolutely had to make it on the list.

Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti manage to combine love, lust, and a deep desire to kill one another – and manage make some of the raunchiest TV scenes out there.

You has never been afraid of sex, even more so in season three.

In one memorable scene we see Joe and Love reconcile after an argument in the kitchen.

They start to kiss, things get heated before the head upstairs.

Passion overtakes them though and, without taking off their clothes, they enjoy passionate lovemaking against the wall.

4. Sex/Life – Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos (Netflix)

What better way to begin a TV show called Sex/Life than to start with the act itself?

The very first scene, is probably one of the hottest on the show, shows the main characters going at it in a public bathroom.

This feels extra sexy to watch because as of yet we don’t really know the characters.

Because of this we feel like naughty voyeurs, stumbling across secret sex that they shouldn’t really be a part of.

That feeling helps to add a more taboo feel to the scene, and we all know that taboo can be very sexy. 

Adding to the layers of naughtiness is the fact that this sex scene is set in a public place – and the idea of them getting caught only adds to the erotic nature of the scene and ensures that we’ll definitely tune in for more!

5. It’s A Sin – Olly Alexander and Michael Mather (C4)

Topping our charts for TV’s spiciest scene has to go to Olly Alexander and Michael Mather for the jaw dropping, sensual, and ever so sexy show they put on for us in Channel 4’s It’s a Sin.

The show celebrates sex, love and liberation in a unique way that had us all yearning for more. 

When Olly’s character, Richie, first moves to London and starts to find his feet he goes through a sexual liberation.

This can be seen in a montage scene that is so steamy you’ll have to crack a window to let in some air.

The scenes between Olly Alexander and Michael Mather were particularly beautifully crafted – so visceral and so real it was impossible to move your eyes from the screen.

For me, as a sex expert, this is a fabulous example of what sex is all about – pleasure.

6. Sex Education – Ola and Lily (Netflix)

The journey of Ola and Lily’s relationship in Netflix’s hit show Sex Education is one that makes the series even more enjoyable.

Opening up representation, diversity, and doing it in a super sexy way that has us all wondering ‘will they won’t they?’ means that when the pair finally kiss we all breathed a huge sigh of relief-laced joy.

The sexual tension had been building for what seemed like forever, and when it finally happened a beautiful and very visceral wave of love washed over them.

This scene is not only sexy, it’s also very romantic and sensually charged, so I simply just had to have it on my list.

As their lips press together you can feel the urgency that Ola and Lily have for one another, helping this to make it one of the sexiest scenes on TV this year.

7. The Pursuit of Love – Lily James and Assaad Bouab (BBC)

OK, so whilst The BBC’s The Pursuit of Love contains very little actual sex, it is definitely erotically charged viewing – which is why it’s made the list.

Lily James’s character Linda enjoys erotic encounters with several men in the show.

There’s the uber posh, Tony, the political activist, Christian, and the debonaire Frenchman that is Fabrice De Sauveterre.

There’s also a very sensual bath scene to enjoy as well as lots of subtle sexual tension between Linda and one of her oldest friends, Fanny, to look out for.
