Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral has been in a tremendous knick this season. What’s impressive about the young lad is his consistency in churning out great performances. Thanks to his stellar campaign, the QB was expected to be the first pick in the draft. However, Ole Miss suffered a painful injury last night, placing his NFL future in peril.

Ole Miss QB has been in scintillating form

Ole Miss had a historic college record this season. The Mississippi-based team ended their college season with an impressive 10 wins in 12 games – A historic first. And as expected, QB Matt Corral was the architect in chief for their success. The young QB in the college games completed 68.3% of his passes for 3,333 yards, with just four interceptions for 20 TDs.

Matt Corral stretchered out of the field against Baylor Bears

Last night, against the Baylor Bears, Ole Miss QB Matt Corral suffered a gruesome injury. In the third quarter, only a couple of minutes left, the star rookie was sacked by Baylor DT Cole Maxwell. As soon as he was sacked, Corral showed signs of pain holding his left leg. Immediately, the Mississippi medic team arrived, and the QB was stretchered off.

Post-match, HC Kiffin when asked about the injury, and safe to say, was upset. Lane explained how Matt was like a son to him, which is why his injury hurt him a lot. “That’s obviously a difficult situation, especially when a kid’s playing in the game, you know, so my mind raced with a lot of thoughts right there, you know, and that’s just my love for him, just like I would if it was my own son in that situation,” said Kiffin.

An unfortunate injury like this shouldn’t hamper his NFL draft prospects. Here’s wishing Corral a speedy recovery.
