INJURY UPDATE: Former WWE Champion Suffers Cervical Neck Injury at WWE Day 1

The inaugural WWE Day 1 PPV had it all. From shocking returns to unexpected title changes, the pay-per-view proved to be a real treat for the WWE Universe in 2022. But unfortunately, some superstars suffered injuries during the pay-per-view. One such superstar is the “Scottish Psychopath” Drew McIntyre.

Though McIntyre is yet to challenge for a title following his move to WWE SmackDown, he is involved in an interesting feud with Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin.

The former WWE Champion got assaulted badly following his match against Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin.

Recently, WWE posted an update of McIntyre’s injury that he suffered following the backstage attack on WWE Day 1. On their official Twitter handle, WWE noted Drew McIntyre suffered a cervical neck strain with severe contusions.

Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss brutally attacked Drew McIntyre on WWE Day 1

Drew McIntyre faced Madcap Moss at WWE Day 1 PPV. Though Moss put up a good fight, McIntyre got the better of him at the end.

During the match, the former WWE Champion displayed an example of his strength by tossing and sending Madcap Moss flying several times.

McIntyre hit Moss with a Claymore Kick to pick up the victory. It looked like the night was going to end on a high for Drew. But Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin had other plans.

During a backstage interview, Moss and Corbin attacked McIntyre and beat him down ruthlessly. The duo took out all their frustrations on the Scottish Psychopath.

What next for the Scottish Psychopath?

After getting the better of Madcap Moss, it looked like McIntyre might finally get a chance to fight for a title.

However, following his injury, it looked like he will have to wait for some time. It is not known for how long this injury will keep McIntyre out.

But one thing is for sure that following his return from injury, Drew will surely want to get his revenge on Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin. The feud is far from over.

We wish McIntyre a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back soon in action.
