The NBA record set from the buzzer-beater of DeMar DeRozan

According to sources, DeMar DeRozan is the only player in NBA history to shoot two consecutive game-winning buzzer-beaters in back-to-back games. This means that in the decades of NBA history that we have witnessed, it never happened before and might probably never happen again. This record could be the modern generation’s version of Oscar Robertson averaging a triple-double in a season.

We should not confuse this as an indication that the two records are equally valuable but are equally absurd and hard to believe. Maybe years from now, some superstar might repeat this. However, giving the NBA fans something they have never seen before is usually more favorable to win their support for an MVP Award.

Just like when Westbrook was awarded the MVP the first time he repeated Oscar Robertson’s accomplishment. However, when he made it look simple and easy, the intrigue around it took a sudden dip. Therefore, does that mean we could see DeMar’s name in the MVP discussion?

What does this mean for DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls?

The Chicago Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with this season. Since DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine have dominated the Eastern conference, they rightfully deserve a spot in the All-Star discussion. Consequently, they have consistently delivered impressive performances that have now led the Bulls to the first seed of the conference.

Therefore, if it comes down to deciding between this duo for who deserves MVP, the voters may have a tough choice. Do you think they deserve to be in the MVP discussion? Let us know what you think about it.
