Apple issues warning for millions of iPhone users as glitch leaves them without a vital feature
APPLE has issued a warning for millions of iPhone users, leaving many wondering when a fix is going to be in place.
All iPhone 13 models are currently affected by a strange issue in which the devices are missing a noise cancellation feature for phone calls.

A Reddit thread brought attention to the situation and quickly went viral.
“Why is no one talking about Apple removing noise cancellation from the iPhone 13 (Mini/Pro) models?” read the title of the thread in r/apple.
“iPhone 12 lineup and lower have a front mic that is used for noise cancellation. The setting can be found in Accessibility -> Audio/Visual. iPhone 13 doesn’t have it. No noise cancellation at all.” wrote the initial poster.
“It’s a PHONE! Making phone calls is THE basic function. At first, I thought my device was faulty, but it seems like Apple removed this feature on purpose for whatever reason.”
The poster added that they even went to an Apple store about the issue and that an employee at the Genius bar was surprised.
“Apple support confirmed that Apple engineers are working on it. Though, they couldn’t tell whether it’s a software or hardware issue,” said the poster, adding that there was currently no estimated time frame of resolution.

Other posted replied to the thread, confirming that Apple Support has acknowledged the issue to them as well.
Another Reddit user by the name of clutchtow used Xcode, Apple’s integrated development environment, to confirm that the iPhone 13 has the same four microphones as the iPhone 12.
This means that there’s potential for a fix found in the software if it isn’t a fundamental manufacturing defect.
If users want to see for themselves on their iPhone 13, go to Settings, Accessibility then tap Audio/Visual. Earlier iPhone models had a “Phone Noise Cancellation” option between “Mono Audio” and “Headphone Notifications” but iPhone 13 doesn’t.
