Dramatic moment woman tries to fight off carjackers who stole her BMW after she got home from work
DRAMATIC footage captures the moment a brave woman tried to fight off carjackers who stole her BMW.
The thugs, who have yet to be identified, pounced on account assistant Elaine Roscoe just moments after she arrived back at her home in Moston, Manchester on Wednesday.
CCTV captured the moment the woman was mobbed by two carjackers
Elaine Roscoe, 54, said she incident was a ‘shock’
The shocking video showed the 54-year-old “wrestling” with one of the robbers over her car keys.
They had been targeting her seven month old BMW having followed her and her vehicle home from work.
Elaine told the Manchester Evening News that, following a scuffle, she had managed to recover her personal belongings before feeling inside her home.
However, one of the thieves had initially managed to escape with her car, leaving her feeling “shocked” and “angered.”
She told the MEN: “You see it in the news, all over social media, but when it happens to you it’s surreal.
“You see it happening to other people and you think ‘I would do this or that’, but you react how you react.

“It’s horrible. It’s shocked me, it’s angered me. I think it’s every emotion you can think of.
Elaine told Police that she had left work at 5.05pm on Wednesday before parking up behind her home some 30 minutes later.
But as she got out of her car to gather her belongings from the passenger seat, Elaine described hearing “feet running.”
DRIVER’S TERROR
“I looked up and there was a lad shouting give me the key, give me the key,” she said.
“I’ve never experienced anything like it in my whole life – it was a bit of a shock. I didn’t take it all in straight away.
“He ran at me, and then we’re basically fighting over this car key. I’ve worked hard for what I have ever since I left school – there was no way I was letting this key go.
“It was only seconds but it felt like minutes.”
After Elaine was mobbed by the two offenders, one eventually managed to escape with the key and drive off in her car.
But after calling 999, Elaine was able to locate the vehicle using an app on her phone which was linked to a tracking device.
The quick bit of thinking allowed her and the authorities to track the whereabouts of the car which had stopped less than a mile away.
Elaine believes the offenders had successfully ripped out the tracking device but did not act quickly enough to avoid being detected.
She added: “I’ve been told that they usually move the car, and the last place it is tracked is where they have ripped it out, then you have no idea where it is.
“But luckily we were too quick for them.”
As police took care of the incident, a neighbour reportedly showed Elaine CTTV that showed the offenders follow her BMW in a grey Fiat Punto.
As the carjacker dashed off in the BMW, the Punto was seen following it away from the scene.
Elaine now says she is now waiting for her car to be repaired as a probe into the incident takes place.
Greater Manchester Police have urged anyone with any information to get in contact by calling 101, quoting log number 2220.
