Ric Flair has taken another shot at WWE superstar Becky Lynch for using The Man as a nickname.
The Nature Boy – who used ‘To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man’ as a catchphrase throughout his career – has taken issue with the Raw Women’s Champion’s use of the moniker and insisted neither she nor the company owns it.
In his latest jab at Big Time Becks, Flair – who has suggested he gave Lynch his blessing – shared pictures of them each with hip hop groups Migos, and called out Becky for her own snap from Saturday night’s Day 1 event.
Referencing Migos star Offset’s single Ric Flair Drip, she cheekily captioned her Instagram post: ‘Next song is “Big Time Drip” @migos #WWEDay1’
Flair – who appeared in the band’s music video for the track – didn’t take the dig well, and wrote in a since-deleted tweet: ‘The Mood Is Night & Day! One’s Real & One’s Make Believe! She’s Big Time, But There’s No Drip, And There Never Will Be!
‘And I Thought She Was THE MAN, But I Guess Not Because They Don’t Own It! HA! When Are You Going To Give Up @BeckyLynchWWE? You’re So Far Behind! WOOOOO! (sic)’
It’s not the first time he’s taken aim at the champ on social media, and last month he claimed there isn’t enough ‘choreography’ in the industry to save Lynch before she faced his daughter at Survivor Series in a bout she ended up winning.
Becky – who has reportedly had her own off-screen issues with Charlotte – on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, she said: ‘Look, I saw that tweet. The one you’re referring to, the one I’m referring to.
‘I wrote out a response that would’ve been quite biting, and I deleted it and I let it go because I think it’s really sad. This was a legend at one point. This legend, a 16 World Champion Ric Flair, is now jealous of me.’
It didn’t long for Naitch to fire back again, as he shared a news article referencing him giving up the trademarks to The Man, while insisting he will always be the one behind the moniker.
