‘For Anyone Asking About the $20k’- Dustin Poirier Finally Responds to Charles Oliveira’s Claims on Charity Money
The last year was a bumpy ride for Dustin Poirier as the Louisiana native clinched two victories against Conor McGregor at the start of the year. However, he lost, arguably, the most important match of his life against Charles Oliveira at the end of the year at UFC 269.
Despite the defeat, ‘The Diamond’ did not backtrack on his donation promise to a charity of ‘Do Bronx’s choice. He provided some updates on his initial offer of $20 thousand to assist his opponent and the current UFC lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira.
For anyone asking about the $20k donation I promised, of course I’m going to honor it! We have been in contact with Charles and his team. We are waiting for them to figure out what project they want it donated to.

Poirier tweeted, “For anyone asking about the $20k donation I promised, of course I’m going to honor it! We have been in contact with Charles and his team. We are waiting for them to figure out what project they want it donated to.”
Oliveira is a native of Sau Paulo, Brazil, and marks his humble beginnings in the town of Guaruja. ‘Do Bronx’s home town suffers from poverty and disease and things have only gone from bad to worse in the pandemic. Notably, Poirier announced his aid after he caught wind of Oliveira’s roots.

However, to everyone’s shock, Poirier’s intentions were questioned recently when ‘Do Bronx’ himself announced that the money didn’t arrive yet.
Charles Oliveira’s revelation on Dustin Poirier’s charity
Charles Oliveira recently announced that he has been getting headaches because of Dustin Poirier’s initial offer of charity to his hometown. Notably, the lightweight champion has revealed that Dustin Poirier is yet to sanction the promised amount of $20 thousand.
“I just tell people that the money didn’t arrive yet, but if Dustin really wants to make a donation and needs those bureaucracy documents, I´ll pick some local social project in my area. The most important thing is helping people who need to be helped, but to tell you the truth, after all the headaches I´ve been dealing with due to that Octagon proposal, I really don’t know if it was good or not,” ‘Do Bronx’ updated via Sherdog.

Oliveira will wait for the money or may plan on how to use it, but he will also have one eye on his next title fight. After beating Michael Chandler at UFC 262, he submitted Dustin Poirier at UFC 269. However, there are still a plethora of names interested in fighting him. These include Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson.
As the top-ranked lightweight, Justin Gaethje is all set to be next and only a formal announcement is awaited. Who do you think should fight ‘Do Bronx’ next? Tell us in the comments below.
