You could soon be wearing your TV on your face with these RayBan-style smart glasses

WEARING your TV on your face could be the future thanks to a pair of recently unveiled smart glasses.

The TCL NXTWear Air glasses provide a wearable display that can be plugged into devices via a USB-C cable.

The TCL glasses have taken on a RayBan style

The previous design of the glasses was much more clunky

The glasses are a much more stylish alternative to last year’s model and were revealed at the CES 2022 tech conference this week.

Unlike other smart glasses, the NXTWear Air do not provide augmented reality.

Instead, they serve as an external monitor.

That means you could technically connect them to your laptop and watch Netflix while lying down.

They have a lighter design than the original original NXTWear and look more like RayBan Wayfarers than TV monitors.

There’s plans for the glasses to be released in the US at some point but no date has been set.

Pricing also hasn’t been revealed.

The original version of the glasses had a few releases in Japan, Korea and Australia.

They were sold alongside content subscriptions like premium sports channels.

The NXTWear Air glasses have 1080p displays and aren’t said to be bad for your eyes.

The effect is said to be similar to watching a 140-inch screen from your sofa.

TCL also has plans for cross reality (XR) glasses that could provide AR and VR on the same device.

In other news, Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed its Vision EQXX electric car.

It’s time to say goodbye to BlackBerry phones as the company has pulled the plug on its once extremely popular handsets.

And, an urgent Android warning has gone out to millions of users after malicious apps were detected in the Samsung app store.
