You’re using Google Chrome wrong – genius trick makes your device faster

SLUGGISH web browsing is a problem no one wants – but there is a trick that could help.

If like most people you’re guilty of keeping several tabs open, this is where your snail pace woes start.

It’s hard to avoid when you see something you might be interested in going back to later.

Sure, you could bookmark it but then you’re likely to forget it even exists or lose the point you were at.

Leaving tabs open sucks up a load of running power for browsers like Chrome and it only gets worse the more you open and leave them in the background.

Thankfully, there is something that can take some of the weight off.

A free extension for Chrome called Auto Tab Discard claims to increase speed and reduce memory load from all those open tabs.

It’s lightweight, so won’t inadvertently make things works, and automatically reduces the memory load of open-but inactive tabs.

Best of all, once you open a deactivated tab back up, everything will be how you left it.

So any half-filled out forms will be restored as before.

And if you’ve scrolled half way down the page, it’ll bring you back to the same point.

You can also whitelist certain websites from being discarded if you need them to stay running continuously.

More than 80,000 people have already used the Chrome extension.

So if you’re having slow Chrome nightmares, it’s worth a shot to see if it speeds things up.
