I found a trick to get FREE iPhone charging cable replacement

A TIKTOKER has revealed a moneysaving trick that could come in handy for iPhone owners.

According to That Turtleneck Guy, there is a way to get Apple to replace damaged charging cables for free.

There are some conditions to be aware of though.

“Here’s how you can get your iPhone, iPad or MacBook charger replaced for free by Apple,” he tells his 74,000 followers.

“If you still have warranty on your devices such as iPad, iPhone, or MacBook, Apple will cover the wires under those warranties for up to one year.”

So anyone with a recent iPhone purchase in the last 12 months with a faulty wire might be in luck.

But there are still some more hurdles to watch out for.

According to Hip2Save, who tried it out for themselves, the charger cannot be showing any physical or external signs of damage.

This means you’re out of luck if your cable is fraying.

For those with a cable free of physical damage and clearly not charging properly – and within warranty – you might still be in with a chance.

You’ll need to book a genius bar appointment at one of Apple’s stores first.

Bring along your Apple product, the affected cable and your receipt.

Success seems to be mixed – some users have reported that it worked for them while others say it did not.

Sure enough, when The Sun tried speaking to an Apple customer rep online, the solution appears to work, though you’ll still need to take the cable into a store to be checked over properly.
