Micah Parsons Injury Report: Dallas Cowboys to Miss Defensive Superstar Against Eagles
Micah Parsons’s sensational rookie season is about to be cut short. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker was just a sack and a half behind breaking the rookie sack record. Jevon Kearse still holds the record. Micah was very close, but he will not be able to take over. Many people were looking forward to the next game to see Parsons own the record.
Unfortunately the rookie LB was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Wednesday. Due to the protocols, Parsons will have to sit out the next game. But they could clear him to take part in the postseason games.
Micah Parsons missing Week 18
On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys placed their rookie linebacker, Micah Parsons, on the COVID-19 reserve list. He has been ruled out of the Cowboys’ week 18 fixture against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Parsons has had an amazing season in Dallas. He is one of the favorites to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. The rookie LB is in the top seven this season for sacks. Along with that, he also has good rankings on quarterback hits and tackles for loss. In the last 25 years, Micah Parsons became the first rookie with over 75 tackles and more than 10 sacks.
Currently, Parsons was eyeing the most sacks made by a rookie record. He has 13.0 sacks. Former Tennessee Titans linebacker Jevon Kearse made the record. Kearse made 14.5 sacks in 1999. Parsons could have owned this record if he could have played on Saturday.
Two other Cowboys linebackers are on the COVID-19 list along with Parsons. Francis Bernard and Keanu Neal will be missing out on Saturday as well. The only active Cowboys’ LB is Luke Gifford and Leighton Vander Esch.

After learning that he could not participate in the Week 18 game, Micah Parsons took to Twitter. He tweeted, “I saddened by the news.” The LB feels like he has let down the fans and his team. “I feel like I let down my team and the Dallas Cowboys nation! I’ll be back better than ever!! I’m only going to be more hungry! See you soon.”
The rookie has promised the fans that he will be stronger than before when he returns. Unfortunately, this is the end of the regular season for Parsons. But there is a possibility that he will return for the playoffs.
