iPhone 14 leak: New design looks different to ANY Apple phone we’ve seen

APPLE could finally remove the “notch” at the top of the iPhone – and offer a full-screen front.

It’s part of a rumoured makeover of the iPhone that will make it look drastically different from 2021’s model.

Apple’s iPhone 14 could finally bin the notch

All recent Apple phones have a “notch”, which juts in to the top of the screen and houses the selfie camera and Face ID face-scanning sensors.

It was first added with the iPhone X in 2017, when Apple’s all-screen design was introduced.

Apple was widely mocked for the design initially, though the firm was copied by Android rivals soon after.

However, many rivals – Samsung and Huawei – have abandoned the design.

It’s now possible to embed fingerprint and face scanners underneath the display.

And well-now leaker and developer @Dylankt on Twitter suggests that will be the case for the iPhone 14.

“I am able to corroborate information regarding a hole punch for the pro models of the iPhone 14,” the leaker explained.

“Face ID hardware will be placed under the display.

“As a reassurance to any concerns, the functionality of these sensors has not been negatively affected by this change.”

The design reportedly includes a pill-shaped hole on the front of the device for a selfie camera.

It means Apple will finally be able to have a truly all-screen front on the next iPhone.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about such a rumour.

Widely respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities has suggested that we’ll see a no-notch iPhone 14.

And long-time Apple leaker and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has said the same.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 14 in September this year.

We’re expecting to see at least four models, including a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The 2021 iPhone 13 introduced fairly minor upgrades over the previous year.

So it’s expected that the 2022 iPhone 14 will include significant changes.

Of course, Apple hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
