‘Still Trying to Figure That Out’: Justin Thomas Makes an Honest Admission About Major Championships

The 2022 PGA Tour season makes a start at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, where players battle it out at the scenic Plantation Course. Notably, the Plantation Course is a par 73 golf course that measures 7,596 yards. The total prize money for the event is a whopping $8.2 million; as a result, the winner takes home $1.476 million.

The field has some of golf’s biggest stars amongst the 38 out of 39 players playing the tournament this week. Ahead of the tournament, Justin Thomas spoke to the media about the golf course and what he expects from the season.

Justin comments on Brooks’ magic at PGA Tour event

Justin Thomas is potentially one of the best tour players right now. He looks to start his 2022 season at the Sentry TOC. He is an American-based golfer and a former World No.1. Thomas has won five PGA Tour events and the PGA Championship, his first major championship. Not to mention, Justin also won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2020 in an epic three men playoff.

In an interview ahead of the 2022 Sentry TOC, Thomas was asked how he feels about the major championships. He said, “I would say probably that there’s a handful of people or what 10 people in the history of the game that can say they have knew how to peak for the majors I mean I am far from knowing how to I mean I am still trying to figure that out, I am trying to figure out what works best for me”.

He added, ” I mean what Brooks does in majors is unbelievable I think um I mean I played with him in two majors last year and I also played him in a lot of other events and it was just unbelievable the difference it seems like the level of his game versus I hate to call it say a regular event in a major but it truly was it just was the mistakes were so minimal.”

Brooks Koepka’s first round at PGA Tour season opener

Koepka fired an opening-round 68, 5 under par. Brooks’ iron as well as driving was immaculate. He didn’t win much in the 2021 season but got his game back at the 2021 Hero World Challenge. He is currently placed at the tied eighth position after round one.
