Bulls Legend Trashes Michael Jordan for Treating Scottie Pippen “Harshly” in Last Dance: “He Was in Tears, and He Tried to Play”

Many regard Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time. Alongside Scottie Pippen, Jordan won six championships with the Bulls during the 90s. The two formed one of the greatest duos in NBA history with their performances on the court. However, they didn’t have a close relationship off the court.

Scottie Pippen and Jordan have been in the news lately due to Pippen firing constant shots at MJ. Jordan’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’ became a hit worldwide and broke several records. While it was a joy to watch for the fans, some of his teammates didn’t enjoy that. Pippen was initially fine with the docuseries, but in his latest memoir ‘Unguarded’, he expressed his discomfort with the show.

Pippen was upset about not getting enough credit in the series and he even added the fact that Jordan’s own production company was involved in the series. Another former Bulls star, Stacey King, has also expressed his dissatisfaction over the series and said that Pippen was treated badly in ‘The Last Dance’.

Stacey King criticizes Michael Jordan for treating Scottie Pippen badly in ‘The Last Dance’

Former Bulls star Stacey King recently appeared for an interview on ESPN’s ‘The Lowe Post‘. During the interview, King took Pippen’s side and said that he was treated badly in the show.

“I thought that the documentary was really good for the fans,” said King.

“More people recognized that Michael was as good as their parents said he was. [But] I thought it was a little bit sensationalized. I didn’t like the way Scottie was portrayed in certain things. In that documentary, a lot of things Scottie did, didn’t really pertain to that second three-peat. You know, the 1.8 seconds was when MJ was retired. In my opinion, that really didn’t need to be brought into ‘The Last Dance.’ It had nothing to do with that.”

Pippen has been very vocal about his opinions about Jordan. However, Jordan is yet to comment on this matter. ‘The Last Dance’ received critical acclaim and even won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.

While the docu-series was earlier mentioned to be based on the Bulls dynasty’s final season, it later came out to be focused more on Jordan. This is what hurt Pippen and now Stacey King. Pippen even revealed that no other player received a ‘dime’ from the series.
