Stephen Curry Welcomes K-Pop Star BamBam to Warriors Family

From Drake to Ranveer Singh, the NBA or teams have often tied up with celebrities. Some come together for a collaboration, while some join them as ambassadors. As everyone welcomes a new year, GOT7’s BamBam has become the latest celebrity on NBA’s list to join a team as a global ambassador.

BamBam and the Golden State Warriors shared the news on January 7, sending fans into a frenzy over the new addition. Stephen Curry himself responded on Twitter, making the announcement even more special.

He was also sporting a No. 97 jersey, the number most likely chosen over his birth year 1997. BamBam, now working with ABYSS COMPANY, is considered a part of the ’97 liners’ group in k-pop along with BTS’ Jungkook, GOT7’s Yugyeom, NCT’s Jaehyun, Seventeen’s Mingyu, The8 and DK, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo.

Of course, BamBam had to share the news on Twitter as well. Curry replied to the Thai artist, delighting all users as well.

Interestingly, GOT7 – the seven-member k-pop group BamBam’s a part of – also did a shoot with NBA Style Korea back in 2016. Fans drew parallels from that very shoot, marveling at how much he has grown.

‘B’ will be released on January 18, 2022.
