The weirdest Google Maps fails spotted on Street View revealed

GOOGLE’S eyes don’t miss anything these days thanks to Street View.

Aside from being a really useful tool for planning routes and trips, it has captured weird moments and even been used to solve crimes.

Not everyone likes their photo taken…

Most recently it helped police find an Italian mafia henchman who has been on the run for 20 years.

People are constantly spotting odd bits and bobs, and here we’ve collected some of the biggest fails.

Pee break

He couldn’t hold it any longer

As if it isn’t bad enough being caught out by a bursting bladder, Google takes it a step further by capturing it all on camera.

It’s not clear whether this was a poor passerby or one of the Google drivers who desperately needed a wee.

I’m lovin’ it

Hungry driver

Aside from pee breaks, everyone also needs to take a lunch.

And when you’re on the road, where better than McDonald’s drive thru, as this Google driver chose.

Camel ride

Don’t get the hump

Cars aren’t quite as practical in the sandy desert, so how about a camel?

Except, we can see your shadow, Google Maps camera…

Hubcap drama

You’re going to need to pull over…

Of course, issues can happen to Google Maps car drivers like anyone else.

This one caught the moment their hubcaps came off… oops.

Tipped truck

May be useful for insurers…

Google Street View has captured many a motoring accident before.

Here’s one of a tipped truck in Russia – and fortunately it looks like no one was hurt.

Bike falls

Two wheeled fail

Could it be the distraction of spotting a Google Street View car?

We’ll never know, but this poor guy was caught at the wrong moment – or right moment, depending on how you look at it.

Not-so picture friendly

A rude awakening

Google learnt the rude way, not everyone likes their picture taken.

This annoyed American motorbiker made his feelings quite clear…

Spider attack

Attention-seeking spider

Even Google can’t avoid creepy crawlies.

While in Finland a spider plonked itself onto the camera lens blocking the view.

Trouble with the police?

Pulled over or simply parked up?

We can’t be certain, but this moment looks like the the Google Maps car got pulled over by police.

It could also just be a parking coincidence, of course.

You left the camera on

Smile!

And finally, it’s not the sort of selfie this Google Maps car driver probably intended.

It seems he forgot to turn the camera off as he stopped to adjust it.

In other news, Apple has become the first company to hit a stock market valuation of $3trillion (£2.22trillion).

Popular Twitch creator Sliker has been banned from the platform after sharing nude imagery of fellow streamer Amouranth.

And internet users have been urged to check their online accounts against one of 2021’s worst cyber threats.
