Warning over iPhone trick to STALK you – turn feature off now

IPHONE owners watch out, partners may be snooping on a part of your handset that reveals where you’ve been.

The technique is mooted on TikTok as a way to catch out cheaters but it is a breach of privacy and trust you might want to consider switching off.

A setting within your iPhone called Significant Locations shows places you tend to go to most – and when you last visited.

A viral video by TikToker t_sply explaining how it’s done has already received more than 30,000 likes on the platform.

“Here’s the best way to stalk somebody,” he says, warning that “relationships may be ruined”.

Only those who have shared their passcode should be really concerned, as any snoopers will need it to see what’s going on.

If you have shared your passcode with anyone, you might want to consider changing it.

But there is another way too – you could switch the feature off altogether.

You can do this by going to Settings and scrolling down to Privacy.

From there, select Location Services.

On the next screen, scroll to the bottom and tap System Services.

Scroll down again until you find Significant Locations.

Here you’ll see places that iPhone has realised you tend to visit a lot.

This is supposed to help your phone “provide useful location-related information” in apps such as Maps, Calendar and Photos.

But on this page, you can switch it off by tapping the toggle.

You might also want to tap Clear History at the bottom to remove all records.
