Los Blancos dominated most of the first 45 minutes and missed chances with the likes of Karim Benzema, Marcos Asensio and Vinicius as well.

However, the Madrid giants’ possession paid off after 25 minutes when the forward’s electric pace allowed him to break the deadlock.

Benzema stole the ball from a careless Sergio Busquets in midfield and played Vinicius through with a marvellous ball.

The Brazil international found himself in front of Marc Andre ter Stegen after completely outpacing Ronald Araujo and sent the ball to the back of the net with a fine finish.

The 21-year-old celebrated his goal wholeheartedly as he put together a cheeky little dance for the live crowd in Riyadh.

However, Real and Vinicius’ joy didn’t last long as Barcelona snapped back and got an equaliser just four minutes before half-time.

The Blaugrana levelled things up with a freak goal as Luuk de Jong diverted an attempted clearance by Eder Militao, which caught Thibaut Courtois by surprise.

The winner of tonight’s encounter will face either Athletic Bilbao or Spanish champions Atletico Madrid in the final on Sunday.

Atletico and Bilbao are scheduled to face off in the competition’s second semi-final on Thursday.
