How Did Venus Williams Out-Earn Simone Biles in 2021?

Ever since Venus Williams came onto the court, she displayed some of the most aggressive tennis ever seen. Along with her sister, Serena Williams, they dominated the game with their showcase of talents. Whenever they arrived on the court, they drew a lot of attention. However, the two have been on the sidelines for a while now, courtesy of longstanding injury. Yet, Venus outshines current gymnastics GOAT, Simone Biles, in terms of earnings.

Winning a total of 32 Olympic and World Championship medals, Simone is the American favorite. However, in terms of net worth and earnings, she doesn’t come close to Venus Williams.

Venus Williams’ earnings are more than Biles’

The duo played tennis with an incredible appetite for the game, being the fashion divas on the court, and entertaining the audience with their top-class shot-making ability. These intangibles and technical proficiency got them a good deal of titles. In their career, their earnings from winning prize money are unmatched.

While Serena is way ahead in that department, Venus comes second with an all-time career earnings total of $42,280,541 as of November 2021. Thus, Venus’ success amounts to a massive net worth of $95 million.

Seven grand slam titles do not do justice to her skills on the court. Her younger sister has always talked about the influence she had on her career. During Serena Williams’ appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, she gave a fitting tribute to her elder sister, saying, “Without Venus, there wouldn’t be me.”

On the other hand, there is Simone Biles, who continues to get plaudits for her influential 2021; not as much in the financial aspect, though.

Simone Biles 2021 net worth

In gymnastics, one represents their country in different competitions, with the Olympics and the World Championships being the key source of income. US Olympians earn $37, 500 for each gold medal, $22,500 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze medals. Before that, the prize money was significantly lower.

Reportedly, Simone earned $82,500 to $100,000 from her success in Rio. But, during the Tokyo Olympics, she withdrew from some gymnastics competitions, citing mental health concerns.

Hence, her prize-money earnings have taken a downfall. Despite that, she nailed several endorsement deals, and it brings her net worth to $16 million now. Evidently, the difference between both of them is quite high. Even if Biles had won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she would not reach Williams’ prize money earnings.

Even though the difference in their net worth is significant, there are no doubts over their abilities as two world-class athletes. While one is a veteran phenomenon, the other is a legend in the making.
