Novak Djokovic Visa Cancelation: 3 Possible Outcomes for the Tennis Great Ahead of Australian Open 2022

Shocking news came in from Australia as the Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke canceled Novak Djokovic’s visa once again. On Friday, the Australian minister released the news in a statement. According to the minister, he canceled Novak’s visa on the basis of public interest.

He said, “Today I exercised my power… to cancel the visa held by Mr. Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so.”

What can Novak Djokovic do in this situation?

The world no.1, Novak Djokovic, has three options in his hands.

He can simply accept the decision and go home without appealing.
He can appeal against the decision. If he wins, he can play; however, he has to go home if he loses.
If he wins his case again, and the government appeals again, the case will be pending. With the case pending, he may not get the chance to play in the Australian Open.

We wait to see if, when, and how Djokovic might appeal this decision.

We also await clarity on if Australia would seek to enforce the three-year ban from reentering the country that can accompany such a deportation order.

Djokovic has not yet been removed from #AusOpen draw.

However, one major thing nobody should overlook is that if he loses, the government could ban the Serb from entering the country for three years, which will be devastating for him.

What’s next for the Australian Open?

While all this is happening, the Australian open still has not removed Novak Djokovic from the draw. According to the draw, he is still playing in the first round on 17th January against Miomir Kecmanovic.

Only time will tell whether Djokovic appeals to the decision or not and gets to play in the Australian Open 2022.

What will happen? Let us know in the comments.
