Alison and Dermot celebrated their year anniversary hosting together last week, where the pair expressed their desire to continue on the show for years to come.
However, Dermot was sat alongside a different co-star on Friday morning, with Josie Gibson filling in for her close friend Alison this week.
Dermot welcomed everyone to the show, leading Josie to exclaim: ‘I’m here!’
‘I know you are! Alison’s having a day off,’ Dermot replied, joking to his co-host: ‘What have you done with her?
‘First, it was Dosh on the Doorstep and now it’s this,’ before he leapt out of his chair and whispered: ‘Where’s she gone?’

It’s not clear why Alison was absent from her hosting duties but on Thursday she posted an emotional tribute to her late mother, two years on from her death.
The pair went on to discuss Josie’s birthday present ideas for Alison, whose special day is coming up in a couple of weeks.
‘Alison did say I could cover for her,’ Josie confirmed. ‘As long as I get her a really good birthday present.’
The host promised she’d buy her pal ‘really good presents’ adding: ‘I know I went to her house empty-handed at Christmas… the presents did arrive after Christmas.’
She went on to ask viewers: ‘If you can think of anything really special I can get her, tweet me with any ideas!’
Fans were delighted to see Josie at the helm, with one share on Twitter: ‘Yay Josie is on! Also, love her hair and makeup today #thismorning.’
A viewer added: ‘@thismorning Yay @Josiestweet and @radioleary today. Miss you @AlisonHammond xxx #ThisMorning.’
‘Pleased that Josie is presenting and it’s a Dr Scott Friday. Good morning! #ThisMorning,’ shared another fan.
ITV confirmed to Metro.co.uk viewers will soon see Alison on-screen again, as she’ll be back next week.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
