American star Jimmy Donaldson, better known to fans as MrBeast, made a handsome sum of £39million in 2021 according to Forbes, making him the best paid YouTuber on the planet.

In fact, it is the biggest payday a YouTuber has ever bagged.

Thanks to his outlandish stunts accumulating him more than 10billion views, MrBeast overtook 10-year-old toy reviewer Ryan Kaji, who topped the list the previous two years.

The influencer even set up his own, real-life version of Squid Game – offering the winner an eye-watering £340,000 prize.

Coming in at second is Jake Paul, whose high-profile fights against UFC stars saw him bag £32million last year.

It’s the first time he has made the list since 2018 after the star’s popularity came tumbling down when his brother Logan posted a video shot in a Japanese forest horrifically famed as a suicide spot.

And in bronze position is gaming creator Markiplier who scooped a tasty £27million by making a successful brand of merchandise.

By flogging T-shirts hoodies and other items tied to his Unus Annus Series, he saw his earnings double from 2020.

The fourth highest earners of 2021 are the hosts of daily geek chat show Good Mythical Morning, Rhett and Link, at £22million.

They were followed by new top 10 entry Unspeakable, whose Minecraft videos and the sale of the rights to his back catalogue to the business Spotter earned him £20milion.

In sixth is seven-year-old Russian star Nastya, who started as a toy unboxer before moving onto vlogs and music videos to coin in £20million last year.

But the world’s most famous toy reviewer has dropped to seventh, with Ryan Kaji making £19million – followed by comedy pranksters Dude Perfect slipped from third to eighth by scooping £14million last year.

And it’s a return to the top 10 for controversial blogger and boxer Logan Paul who last made the list in 2017. He made £13m in 2021.

Topping off the list at number 10 is Preston Arsement whose Minecraft-themed videos gave him a payday of £11million.

But it’s no surprise their earnings are soaring as more people than ever are on YouTube, with 2.3 billion users worldwide last year.
