Celine Dion devastated as she cancels US tour shows over health issues

Celine Dion has been forced to cancel the remainder of the North American leg of her tour due to ‘recent health issues’.
The All By Myself singer said she was ‘hoping she’d be good’ by now, but is following doctors’ orders by cancelling the shows.
She tweeted a picture of a press release which reads: ‘Celine Dion today announced that as her recovery from a recent health issue continues she unfortunately must cancel the remaining shows of the North American leg of her Courage World Tour, previously rescheduled for March – April 2022.’
It added that the 53-year-old was recently treated for ‘severe and persistent muscle spasms and her recovery is taking longer than she hoped’.
It concluded: ‘Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition.’
Celine said: ‘I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing.
‘There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.
‘I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can’t wait to be on stage again. Meanwhile, I’ve been very touched by all the words of encouragement that everyone’s been sending to me on social media.
‘I feel your love and support and it means the world to me.’
The European leg of Celine’s tour is still due to begin in May.
Celine was previously forced to delay her Las Vegas residency due to the health issue.

The star has been keeping fans updated on social media, but most recently took to Twitter to pay tribute to her late husband René Angélil, on the sixth anniversary of his death.
Sharing a sweet photo of him, she wrote: ‘I would be lying if I said I’m fine, I think of you at least a hundred times, cause in the echo of my voice I hear your words just like you’re there… I miss you – Céline xx…’
