‘Going To Remember for the Rest of My Life’: Naomi Osaka Highlights the Most Significant Accomplishment

Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has had a career so far that not many players manage to replicate. The success earned by her, both on and off the tennis courts, is sensational. 

At the young age of 24 years, she is the proud winner of four Grand Slam titles. She has also managed to bag some of the biggest endorsement deals, which has made her one of the highest-paid sporting athletes in the world. 

Not many athletes are given the honor that Naomi Osaka received 

However, Osaka was recently asked as to which was her greatest accomplishment in life. Interestingly, it was during the Tokyo Olympics last season. She lit the Olympic cauldron to mark the formal start of the Olympic Games. To be able to perform such a thing is a great honor and especially at such a young age. 

Speaking on this subject, she stated, “Tennis put me in the position to be able to light the Olympic torch in Tokyo. I think that’s something I’m gonna remember and be so grateful for the rest of my life.”

Reflecting on the Olympics, Osaka did not impress as she was dealing with quite a few complications at that point in time. She crashed out in the third round and failed to win a medal for her nation. 

Time to defend the Major 

Coming to the present date, the Japanese former World No. 1 player is busy preparing herself for the first Grand Slam event of the season, the Australian Open 2022. She will be defending her title and is one of the favorites considering she has won the title twice in a span of three years.

The Australian Open 2022 begins on the 17th of January and will end on the 30th of January. It will be interesting to see how things shape up in the women’s draw as there are many interesting players that could go the distance.
