The kind of adulation Simone Biles receives from people is spellbinding. She is the darling of gymnastics and continues to draw plaudits from most people. Although she withdrew from different events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Biles won the bronze medal in her signature balance beam competition. With her backing down from competitions, her on-court earnings took a hit.
Despite that slump, she made enough dough in 2021 to put her amongst the highest-paid athletes of the year. Biles ranks fourth in the top highest-paid female athletes for 2021. Tennis superstars Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams, and Venus Williams leads the charge.
How much did Simone Biles earn in 2021?
Surprisingly, she made just $0.1 million with her on the court performances. However, she racked up different endorsement deals last year with earning over $10 million off-court. Altogether, she earned $10.1 million in 2021. Biles’ capability to be a great brand image for companies, helped her to get unique endorsement deals. Hence, her net worth now stands at $16 million. The decision taken by her in Tokyo helped her to gain a substantial amount of support from her endorsement companies.

Thus, she is on top of her game, attending various events, and boosting her profile. Some of her important deals are Visa, United Airlines, Gap’s Athleta, Core Power, Nabisco, and Uber Eats. Famous sports agent Leigh Steinberg talked about the potential she had in receiving credible deals in the future.
“She could still be in multiple-hundred-thousand-dollar deals or long-term deals. At the height someone could be doing seven-figure deals, but that would be a long-term relationship with a company that would involve television and print ads, social media and all the rest of it,” said Biles.
Naomi Osaka leads the way
As mental health struggles are not overlooked these days, Naomi Osaka is another sports personality who gained a lot of fans. With the pressures and expectations of performing at a major grand slam tournament, she paved the way for most athletes to speak up on mental health issues. With her famous withdrawal from the French Open, Osaka earned many endorsements deals as well. She earned $2.3 million by winning prize money from tournaments while earning $55 million from off-court deals. With a total of $57.3 million, Osaka is the wealthiest female athlete of 2021.

A return to gymnastics looks unlikely for Biles anytime soon. However, remaining focused on the 2024 Paris Olympics, she hopes to get back to her best soon. It won’t be a surprise if the iconic gymnast ranks in the same list, after 2022.
