Chris Evert will not be traveling to the Australian Open

Evert has been an analyst at ESPN for quite a long time now. After the Chemotherapy, the American is staying at home trying to recover from the disease and will not travel to Australia to cover the Grand Slam. A while ago, doctors detected the cancer after a preventive hysterectomy and told her that the cancer has not spread elsewhere in her body.

Doctors also gave her the good news and told her that there’s a 90 percent possibility that the cancer may not come back. Evert is very hopeful about her situation and said, “I’ve lived a very charmed life, now I have some challenges ahead of me. But, I have comfort in knowing the chemotherapy is to ensure that cancer does not come back.”

Earlier in 2020, Evert lost her sister Jeanne Evert due to ovarian cancer, but she wants to get inspiration from her to fight this battle. Hopefully, she recovers well after getting the necessary treatment.
