‘The Man’- UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira Lauds Edson Barboza for His Stunning Knockout Finish

The UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira reacted to an old knockout finish by Edson Barboza on his social media account. ‘Do Bronx’ is one of the most talented fighters in the promotion. He holds several records, including most finishes, and most submission wins under his name.

Furthermore, the Brazilian has won over some of the most notable fighters in UFC. Interestingly, Oliveira is quite active on social media and frequently posts for his fans.

Recently, the official UFC page of Brazil posted the now featherweight fighter Barboza’s knockout video, where he finished Terry Etim in the third round at UFC 172 via a stunning wheel kick.

‘Junior’ ended his three-fight skid with a win in 2020. However, he recently faced a loss and is currently 2-2 in UFC since 2020. On the other hand, ‘Do Bronx’ is currently on an amazing ten-fight undefeated streak.

He recently defeated one of the best lightweight fighters to defend his title at UFC 269. The Brazilian already has an opponent for his next title defense. However, he has been recently offered one of the biggest fights in his UFC career.

Former Two Division UFC Champion Wants to Fight Charles Oliveira

‘Do Bronx’ successfully defend his lightweight title for the first time against Dustin Poirier via submission at UFC 269. Right after his win, the Brazilian already had a name that he could face next inside the UFC cage this year.

It was none other than the number 1 lightweight contender Justin Gaethje, who secured his position with a stunning win against Michael Chandler. However, after UFC 269, the former two-division champion Conor McGregor expressed his interest in fighting for the title on his return this year.

A fight with the UFC star surely brings in a lot of attention from the globe and also a hefty payday for his opponents. Hence, Oliveira also diverted his attention from Gaethje to the money fight with McGregor.

Even though the UFC president Dana White has already agreed to give ‘The Highlight’ the next title shot, many believe the promotion can snub him for the Irishman. However, fight fans will have to wait until UFC makes any official announcements.
