And The Sun can today reveal how Bez got that trademark gap between his front teeth.

The 57-year-old Happy Mondays dancer – real name Mark Berry – lost his gnashers as a 15-year-old during a school lunchtime when he decided to take his friend’s motorbike for a spin without wearing a helmet.

A dog jumped at the front wheel and Bez crashed onto the tarmac.

He said: “Road burns hurt like f**k, especially when all that’s between you and the tarmac is a flimsy jacket.

“Both sides of the zip stuck in either shoulder, I lost my trademark gappy teeth and had angry red burns from head to toe.”

After arriving at hospital, Bez said he chanced his luck saying he was concussed and couldn’t remember his name but supposedly neither the hospital workers or police were buying it.

He said: “I’d lost my best jacket, my teeth and my freedom – I was severely grounded for what seemed like a whole year.”

The Happy Mondays singer revealed all in his book Freaky Dancing: Me and The Monday’s.

In it the TV star explained that after the incident, he and his sister, Michaela, no longer shared any similar features. However, Bez added that his eldest son, Arlo, inherited similar teeth and he ‘might get to see what he would have looked like in later years if he manages to hang on to his that long.’

Bez is set to make his Dancing On Ice debut tonight.

The star appeared on Celebrity Masterchef last year and is also a regular on Celebrity Gogglebox.
