Brilliant iPhone trick you need to know – and it’s great for anyone who texts
YOUR iPhone has a clever feature that’s great for anyone who regularly misses notifications.
So if you’re a serial textaholic, it’s probably one you’ll want to learn.

Apple notifications can be easily missed, especially as many of us have sound and vibration switched off.
But there’s another option buried deep in iPhone settings to help you along.
It was shared by TikTok creator TechHackGuy, racking up hundreds of likes.
The feature works by making your iPhone torch flash when you get a notification.
It’s only a brief flash, so it won’t be too annoying.
But it means you’re much less likely to miss an iPhone notification.

It’s not hugely useful if the iPhone is in your pocket, but if it’s out on a table or upside down, you’ll easily spot a notification.
Importantly, you can keep your iPhone face down.
So if you’re expecting a private missive, you can be alerted to a notification without revealing what – or perhaps who – a text is from.
To turn it on, you need to go into Settings.
Then scroll down to Accessibility – it’s actually designed for people who might have difficulty with the regular notification system.
Now go to Visual and then look for LED Flash for Alerts.
Set the toggle to the On position and you’re done.
You’ll now get a quick torch flash when you receive a notification.
And if you don’t like the new system, you can turn it off at any time.
That’s not the only texting trick on iPhone, of course.
Hidden keyboard trackpad
Editing a message on your iPhone is way harder than it has any right to be – but this easy trick turns the phone’s keyboard into a laptop-style trackpad with a cursor that you can move by touching the screen.
With it, you’ll be able to precisely go back and forth between each character in a text without having to furiously tap the display.
Simply hold down the space bar when you’ve typed some text, and the keyboard will turn into a track-pad.
You can then use this virtual track-pad to move your cursor much more easily.
Add punctuation faster
Tapping out full stops might not seem like a burden, but it does slow you down.
That’s why Apple has built a cheeky shortcut into iOS to make it even easier to end a sentence.
If you tap the space bar twice after a word, the first space will convert into a full stop.
That way you can keep typing using only letters and the space bar, without ever having to reach down for the full stop.
Unlock website endings
If you’re trying to type a web link, it can be frustrating to tap out the .org or .edu.
A better solution is to long-press on the full stop, which will bring up shortcuts for many popular website endings.
This should make it easier to quickly write a website’s address.
