“I Slapped Him in His Face” – When Nate Diaz Got Picked on by Khabib Nurmagomedov and His Teammates

It is a well-known fact that UFC fighter Nate Diaz has had rivalries with other famous fighters like Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Back in 2015, the younger Diaz brother got into an altercation with Khabib and his teammates and slapped Khabib for trying to bully him.

Diaz was at the World Series of Fighting to see his friends fight. However, after his altercation with ‘The Eagle’, he wasn’t able to see the fight he was there for.

Later on, in a conversation with ESPN MMA, Diaz opened up about the incident. He said, “When I ran into him and his team at the World Series of Fighting, they were, they were taking a group picture because I was standing there watching Jake, my friend, fight and they took a picture. A group picture with me behind him just to laugh at me. To make fun of me, you know what I’m saying.”

“And I’m watching my friend walk out, trying to watch his fight, and then he’s like haha come on man sh*t, haha and they’re all laughing on the, like 12 Russian dudes.”

Diaz further said, “Yeah, I slapped him in his face for making fun of me.”

After he struck ‘The Eagle’, the security came in and escorted Diaz out. So the fighter waited for Khabib outside. However, according to Diaz, Khabib ran off. Diaz also accepted that he shouldn’t have attacked Nurmagomedov because it was ‘reckless’, but he also couldn’t stand getting picked on.

Nate Diaz: His rivalry with other UFC fighters

Diaz’s rivalry with Khabib was a huge one. Similarly, his conflict with Conor McGregor stirred tons of excitement amongst fans. These were two of the biggest competitors for Diaz. He has also previously called out Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier.
