Tyson Fury’s March Return Deemed ‘Unrealistic’

After a career-defining trilogy wins against Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury sits on the top of the heavyweight division. He currently holds the WBC world heavyweight title and Ring magazine strap, which can fetch him umpteen A-listed opponents. However, Fury may not be in a mood to put his green belt at stake.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has already outlined some plans for his client’s future, citing March or April as a potential timeline for his comeback. ‘The Gypsy King’ is yet to receive an official opponent. But several reports verify him to step through the ropes somewhere in early 2022.

However, rival promoter Eddie Hearn doesn’t see it happening. Per his vision, a fight of such massive caliber would have been in promotion full force if March was actually the timeline. Thus, he ruled away the timeline for Fury’s next fight.

In a chat with BBC Radio V, Eddie Hearn said, “People keep talking about March dates- That’s starting to look unrealistic for a fight of this magnitude.” (H/T:- DAZN).

Ideally, Tyson Fury should compete against Dillian Whyte, who currently holds the WBC interim heavyweight title. However, the matchup shall overcome all the contractual boundaries to meet fruition. On the contrary, Frank Warren has outlined Andy Ruiz Jr. or Robert Helenius as Fury’s next potential opponents.

Undefeated champion Fury could have also gone for an undisputed title fight against WBA, WBO, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk. That said, he can move in any direction and we can envision an official announcement from his side shortly.

Tyson Fury is looking for the unique matchups

There are plenty of high-volume fights in the boxing domain which can intrigue Tyson Fury to step through the ropes. But ‘The Gypsy King’ wants to go for the most uncanny matchups and has called out UFC champion Francis Ngannou to collide against him in what can be a massive PPV blockbuster. After Ngannou expressed his discomfort towards the current UFC pay-scale, Fury jumped into the scene with this massive offer.

On receiving the right price and opportunity, Francis Ngannou can step in as he has always conveyed his will to box in the ring. That said, Tyson Fury can comfortably sit and see how his future plays out, putting several top-tier matchups before him.
