French actor Gaspard Ulliel dies aged 37 in skiing accident

French actor Gaspard Ulliel, recognised for his appearance in the Bleu de Chanel advert and who is set to star in upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight, has died at the age of 37 following a skiing accident.

According to news agency AFP, he was skiing in the Savoie region on Wednesday when he collided with another skier at an intersection between two slopes and suffered a serious brain trauma.

An investigation into the accident is currently underway.

The Cesar winner is set to star in Marvel’s upcoming Moon Knight series.

One of France’s most popular actors, his credits included To the Ends of the World, A Very Long Engagement, Saint Laurent and Hannibal Rising, in which he starred as the lead character.

The actor leaves behind his partner, model-singer Gaëlle Piétri, and five-year-old son.
