While The Last Dance documentary delivered its share of highs, it led to some dark confrontations. In the most shocking of these, Bulls legend Scottie Pippen lashed out at former teammate Michael Jordan in horrific style. Another player who was near and dear to this pair, was 60-year-old Dennis Rodman. Recently, Rodman evaluated Pippen’s impact on the NBA.
Playing together for years, Pippen and Jordan were practically unstoppable. Although Pippen was never really that close to Jordan, he always had enormous respect for what Jordan did for the sport. One of the best ever guard-forwards, Jordan became the franchise’s most prolific scorer.
However, a star is only as good as his team, and ‘His Airness’ had a potent one. But in his memoir ‘Unguarded’, the 7-time All-star has destroyed Jordan. It all stemmed from the docu-series, where Pippen and many other Bulls stars felt underappreciated by Jordan. In addition, none of them were paid for their roles in it either, while MJ went on to mint money for the show.

Dennis Rodman believes Scottie Pippen influenced the next-gen more than Michael Jordan
After the documentary gained popularity, Pippen went on to destroy Michael in his book, and via a series of rants. On the other hand, Rodman spent four years with the duo. Nicknamed ‘The Worm’, he was a defensive prowess. Speaking about the ongoing controversy and how each of them impacted basketball, Dennis had some valuable insights.

“Scottie revolutionized that position, you know, point forward. He did. Even though Michael Jordan was point forward, but Scottie was that lanky 6’9 guy that could come down and beat you on a dribble. Just one-two dunk.” He proceeded to analyze how someone like Ben Simmons is a mere evolution of someone like Scottie. He then continued, “Kobe was 6’8, where was he? The guy in Milwaukee, same thing…”
