2022 American Express: Prize Money Breakdown From Winner to Last-Place

Time moves really fast. It is still January of 2022, and we are about to find out who will be the champion of the third PGA Tour event. After Sentry Tournament of Champions and Sony Open, it is time to discover who will hoist the American Express Course trophy.

The 2022 American Express Course began on the 19th of January. Although only a Round is over, the results are surprisingly not in favor of the fan favorites. Current world no. 1 Jon Rahm is at T13 with a 6-under, while a rookie Lee Hodges leads the board with a 10-under. Patrick Cantlay is currently tied with Hodges after the first round.

The 2021 American Express champion Si Woo Kim is at T40 with a score of 4-under. While last year was a major comeback for Phil Mickelson, with a score of +6, he is one of the golfers at the bottom of the board.

Other than the prize money, the winner of the PGA Tour event will also receive 500 FedEx points as well as 50 Official World Golf Ranking points. He will also get benefits like two or more season exemption on the PGA Tour, a place at this year’s Masters and PGA Championship, and next year’s Sentry Tournament of Champions.
