Arguably the greatest snowboarder of all time, Shaun White is retiring after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. With his qualification to the tournament in doubt initially, he finished on the podium in the last event in Laax. Hence, he is on his way to competing in his fifth Winter Olympics now. Winning a gold medal would be the ultimate goal for Shaun, as this will be his last appearance on the big stage.
After two decades of incredible success, White is now looking at life away from competing professionally. Although, regardless of his retirement plans, he is not moving away from snowboarding. He recently launched his own lifestyle brand and looks to take his company to greater heights.
Shaun White launches a new brand
Most athletes look forward to the future after they gain immense success. While some may stick to the sport by coaching younger talent or turn towards commentating to provide their analysis, Shaun has other plans.
Shaun has started a brand called ‘Whitespace’ with his brother. The brand includes outerwear, snowboard equipment, goods, and other streetwear clothes. With a new venture, he aims to stick to snowboarding to continue contributing to his roots.

“There are some amazing things happening in my life, obviously my business life, I launched a company called Whitespace with my brother. I have big plans to stay in the sport and do all sorts of things,” said White.
Likewise, he signed a deal with energy drink Celsius while competing in different tournaments with the name Whitespace on his snowboard.
Preparations for China
While that is after retirement, he has a tough competition awaiting him in Beijing. Hence, he is even looking after his diet to be in the best shape possible to compete at the highest level. While Ayumu Hirano continues to draw plaudits for his incredible skills and tricks, becoming a favorite for gold, White is determined to make an impact himself in his last Olympic appearance.

With different athletes looking to compete in his signature half-pipe competition, Shaun White hopes to win his fourth and final Olympic gold medal. As for Whitespace, it is a company formed to secure his future and keep his passion alive in snowboarding. However, do you think White will do equally well in the business world?
