Depop seller slammed for trying to flog battered old trainers for £50 ‘because they’re designer’
OVER the years, Depop has become one of the favourite shopping apps, where users can get their hands on items that other people no longer want.
However, one buyer has been left stunned after spotting an advert for a pair of Comme des Garçons x Converse high tops for £50.
InstagramThe post has almost 17 thousand likes on Instagram[/caption]
With an average price tag of around £130 – £140 for a pair of these trendy sneakers, it wasn’t so much the relatively low price that shocked the potential buyer – it was the completely battered state of them.
The shocked person even took screenshots of the message exchange which was then submitted to Depop Drama on Instagram.
”£50???? You must be having a laugh,” the person could be seen writing after a further inspection of the advertisement.

The uploaded photos, provided by the owner of the black Converse sneakers, showed a rather beaten-up pair of high tops.
It appeared that one shoelace was missing, there were also what looked like bleach stains on one of the trainers.
Both had lost their shape and some part of the sole was coming off.

”They are comme des garcons i’ll have you know,” the seller replied.
”Doesn’t matter if they were worn by the queen nobody buying those for £50.”
However, the conversation ended quite abruptly as the Depop seller claimed the buyer didn’t know anything about fashion before blocking the person.
One stunned Instagram user wrote: ”I can smell them through the screen.”
”My worn shoes dont even look like that,” someone thought.
Another Depop shopper shared: ”There’s a tshirt from The Crow film up for £800 and it’s falling apart.”
”The nerve to think you can basically get paid for wearing something to death,” is how someone else felt about the situation.
A viewer guessed: ”Seems like they closed their eyes and chose a price at random.”
“Worn once for an hour, indoors,” a person joked.
