Heartbreaking Update on Draymond Green Amidst Klay Thompson Tweaking His Knee: “There’s No Light at the End of the Tunnel”

Golden State Warriors are 34-13 this season and sit 2nd in the Western Conference table. The Warriors recently registered their 34th win of the season over Utah Jazz at home. However, they have been hit with injuries off late as Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are out.

Klay Thompson has now been out for two straight games due to soreness in his left knee. While at first everyone thought that the Warriors are being cautious with Klay, but now after four days, he is still questionable for the game vs Mavericks. Just to be clear, this is the same knee where he suffered an ACL during 2019 NBA Finals. Another Warriors star who’s out injured is Draymond Green.

Green has been out since he injured his calf during the warm-ups before the Cavaliers game on January 9th. However, it was later revealed that it is a calf issue. Green has now missed action for the last nine Warriors games and could be out for a few more.

Marc Spears provides an update on Draymond Green’s injury amidst Klay Thompson injury

ESPN’s ‘The Undefeated’ journalist Marc J. Spears appeared on the ‘NBA Today’ on Monday. During the show, he provided a big update on Draymond Green’s injury.

“I’m probably more concerned about Draymond Green. He still has another week before the Warriors re-evaluate him,” Marc Spears said on NBA Today.

“But right now, I keep hearing there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. And I’m wondering perhaps this could go a little longer. He’s the heart and soul of this team. The same way we saw with (Rudy) Gobert’s absence and how much it’s hurt the Utah Jazz, I think you’re seeing that with the Warriors right now. They need him on both ends of the court. But it’s very uncertain when Draymond might be back.”

Green got injured in the same game when Klay Thompson made his comeback after being out for more than 2 years. Green had to leave the court, and he hasn’t suited up for the Warriors since then.

Draymond Green was averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 34 matches before being injured. He was in incredible form for the Warriors and appeared to be a top contender for the Defensive Player of the Year this season. However, it is yet to be seen when he’s got to hit the court again.
