Rylan Clark has called for the return of Big Brother UK following confirmation that Celebrity Big Brother Australia will be broadcasted on E4.

Channel 4 confirmed on Tuesday night that the Down Under edition will launch on its sister channel in February, with Caitlyn Jenner, Thomas Markle Jr, and Married At First Sight Australia’s Jessika Power on the line-up.

Over 11 episodes, this series will see 12 celebrities live together in the show’s first ever ‘luxury hotel’ – but of course, there’ll be a twist waiting for them, as well as the chance to win a $100,000 (£53,000) prize for charity.

Following the announcement, Rylan made a plea for the beloved British reality television staple to make a comeback.

‘Amazing news…… NOW BRING OURS BACK,’ he penned.

Big Brother first aired in the UK in 2000 on Channel 4 and continued for 11 series on the network until 2010, when it was picked up by Channel 5.

However, in 2018, it was confirmed that the 19th series of Big Brother would be its last, with Celebrity Big Brother also ending.

Rylan won Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and went on to co-host Big Brother’s Bit On The Side until its cancellation five years later.

The final civilian series of the show was won by Cameron Cole in 2018, who came out during his appearance in the compound.

Ryan Thomas was crowned the last-ever winner of Celebrity Big Brother in that same year. The series also sparked thousands of Ofcom complaints after Roxanne Pallett falsely accused the actor of punching her.

Rylan also voiced his desire for the series returning earlier this month, telling the Mirror: ‘Big Brother was like a child to me – doing Big Brother’s Bit on the Side every night became like a lifestyle rather than a job.

‘Big Brother changed my life completely – a proper 360 – and I miss it dearly and I just think if it was to come back now, it could come back the same but so different now.’
