Kanye West is reportedly in the process of hiring homeless people living on Skid Row to model his next Yeezy fashion collection.
The Gold Digger rapper recently met with David Sabastian, the founder of Skid Row Fashion Week, earlier in January.
According to TMZ, Kanye, 44, was busy recording his upcoming album, Donda 2, at his studio in Los Angeles’ Arts District when he and David met and agreed to create a Yeezy x Skid Row Fashion Week clothing collaboration.
It’s all for a good cause as they have reportedly pledged to use 100% of the proceeds to help those living on Skid Row.
Not only that but the company will employ those who are unhoused to work at the Skid Row fashion factory, while Kanye and David are also said to be in the early stages of planning a fashion show where they’ll hire those from the factory to model the clothes.
Some of the pieces are expected to be made from items found on Skid Row, with a bin bag puffer jacket reportedly one of the designs they are working on.

A website for the collab has already been built and features a brief promo video with the Skid Row and Yeezy logos, while an Instagram page has also launched. The Yeezy x Skid Row Fashion Week collection is expected to drop on February 22.
Helping those on Skid Row has been a cause close to the heart of Kanye’s estranged wife Kim Kardashian and her family, and they once filmed an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians where they donated goods to those in need on the strip.

Kanye is currently in Paris for Fashion Week with his girlfriend Julia Fox, so it’s possible he could be getting inspiration from the runway shows for his own label.
The Grammy winning rapper has always prioritised philanthropy and last year, met with charities to come up with strategies in an attempt to ease the increasing homelessness crisis in LA.
