Update your iPhone NOW as Apple rolls out urgent fix for critical bugs and security flaws

IPHONE fans across the globe are being urged to check their devices now after Apple on Wednesday rolled out an urgent software update.

The upgrade to the iOS operating system fixes a handful of critical bugs, including one that could expose your browsing habits to cyber crooks.

The flaw in the Safari browser lets websites you visit see your browsing history and other personal data.

Both iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 15.3 fix the Safari issue, according to 9to5Mac, as well as a litany of other software bugs and security flaws.

Vulnerabilities within ColorSync, iCloud and other software have also been put right.

In patch notes on its website, Apple says the update is “recommended for all users”.

As is standard industry procedure, the Cupertino tech titan did not disclose the nature of the flaws or how they might be exposed.

“For our customers’ protection, Apple doesn’t disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are available,” Apple said.

Unfortunately, Apple has not added any new features with the update.

The last version of iOS to give users something different to play around with was iOS 15.2 in December.

That introduced the long-awaited App Privacy Report, which is available in your settings.

It gives users an overview of what information your apps have access to and what they’re sharing.

The update also added an alert that tells the owner if genuine Apple parts were used by a repairman, as well as a tool that blurs possible naked shots sent to or from children and notifies their parents.

What iPhones are compatible with iOS 15.3?

The update is available to anyone with an iPhone 6S and later, as well as 7th generation iPod touch owners.

If you’re using an iPhone that can’t update to iOS 15.3, it’s important that you consider upgrading.

Moving to a newer iPhone means you’ll be able to get the latest security updates.

Using older models that can’t update with the latest security fixes is a major risk – and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

How to update to iOS 15.3

If you have a compatible device and your iPhone hasn’t automatically updated then you can download iOS 15.3 by following a few simple steps.

Before you get started, make sure your iPhone is backed up and that you’re connected to WiFi.

Open Settings, tap “General” and then “Software Update”.

The update may appear on the screen if it’s ready for your phone and you can tap “Install Now” to get it.
