Tyson Fury Reveals Why $155 Million Deal to Fight Oleksandr Usyk Broke Down

Tyson Fury has constantly blamed his heavyweight counterparts for lacking the will to step in the ring against him. After beating Deontay Wilder in October 2021, ‘The Gypsy King’ hinted at coming back in mid-2022. He spun rumors of several potential fights, but nothing concrete emerged.

Meanwhile, several reports cited that talks for the undisputed title clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk had begun already. Reporter Mike Coppinger claimed the Fury vs Usyk matchup was being targeted for June 2022 in the Middle East.

A site fee of $155 million was also being offered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which involved Dillian Whyte’s and Anthony Joshua’s payments for stepping aside. However, it remained a report, and Fury offered his take on the same. The WBC champion tweeted, “It’s called greed.”

Unless the four men cross paths against each other, it’s hard to picture anyone else sliding into the tale. That said, Tyson Fury has subtly called out Dillian Whyte in of his latest Instagram posts.

Is Tyson Fury really going to meet Dillian Whyte next?

Fury vs Whyte should ideally be the perfect WBC heavyweight title fight. ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte holds the Interim strap and has been targeting a crack at the championship for several years.

With his strategy of heavy body punches, he will have a puncher’s chance against the highly technical ‘The Gypsy King’. He could weaken Fury and enhance his own reputation as a KO artist.

Should the fighters agree to a purse split, or purse bids come to the fore; the fight seems ready to go, irrespective of the outer-ring politics. However, as both sides remain at an impasse, it is still unclear whether we will actually see the Britons collide with each other.
