Dancing On Ice: Paul Gascoigne breaks down in tears with pride following son Regan’s stunning routine

Paul Gascoigne was the proudest dad tonight as he watched son Regan compete in Dancing On Ice.

The footballing legend was so overcome with emotion that he broke down in tears at the side of the ice rink following Regan’s performance.

Regan delivered a stunning Singin’ in the Rain inspired routine with professional partner Karina Manta for the show’s movie week, which had the judges full of praises.

Regan – who said he was once likened to Gene Kelly by a teacher at school – had the support of his dad and sister Bianca in the studio, who were beaming from ear-to-ear with pride.

Chatting to host Holly Willoughby as the stars awaited the results, the sports star recalled taking his son to an ice rink when he was younger.

He was then forced to wipe away tears as Bianca wrapped a protective arm around him and cuddled into his side.

Even viewers at home were brought to tears by Gazza, with one tweeting: ‘Gazza in tears on #DancingOnIce has got me sobbing my heart out.’

Another wrote: ‘God bless gazza on #DancingOnIce someone give him a hug.’

‘Gazza is such a sweetheart,’ said one viewer, while another said he should be ‘so proud’ of his dancer son.

Regan and Karina scored a mega 33.5 out of a possible 40, and the two sailed through to next week in the public vote.

Viewers were mesmerised by his performance, and it seems Regan has well and truly set the bar high following a stunning routine to Sam Smith’s Too Good at Goodbyes last week.

We can’t wait to see what he does next Sunday but, sadly, TV presenter Ria Hebden will have to watch from home, as she lost out to Rachel Stevens in her second dance off.
