Lord Alan Sugar clashes with columnist over his criticism of Martin Freeman’s accent in The Responder

Lord Alan Sugar made his feelings known on social media, again, after criticising Martin Freeman’s accent in The Responder.
The 74-year-old business mogul recently expressed that he didn’t understand a single word the 50-year-old actor said in the BBC thriller- which sees Martin’s character, Chris, on edge as he deals with marital problems and mental health issues alongside the nightly challenges of his role.
It looks like the drama isn’t over as The Apprentice frontman got into a heated exchange on Twitter with columnist Brian Reade after he questioned why Martin spoke with a ‘Liverpool accent’.
Brian replied: ‘Nothing personal, fella. I just dislike jumped-up barrow boys who believe a poxy title makes them aristocracy. Especially when they’re narcissistic turncoats.
Alan clapped back and wrote: ‘Have you considered you might be one of life’s losers, a non achiever other than use your position in a dying newspaper to vent garbage.
‘Look in a mirror, ask yourself what you’ve done. This jumped up barrow boy has employed 1000’s of people and changed so many lives.’
Brian wrote back: ‘Yeah, if only I’d made computers that were a byword for tat, become famous through bullying Katie Hopkins clones with my stubby finger and was so insecure I demanded everyone call me “Lord”… I’d be one of life’s winners.’
Lord Sugar continued: ‘YOU make computers hah. In 1987 Amstrad was the largest PC maker in EU. Prats like you used them to write the crap you do.
‘We paid 100’s of millions of corporate and personal tax to help inspire, educate the young. Maybe you don’t have kids. I heard a rumour you can’t get it up.’

Lord Sugar’s comments didn’t go noticed by fans – who branded Martin’s performance ‘spot on’ – and labelled the star as ‘ignorant’ and demanded him to delete the post.
Some even suggested his critique was ‘causing harm’ and fuelled the struggle to get big dramas made outside of London.
However, when one follower called Lord Sugar ‘the thickest billionaire in the world’, he had to respond.

‘You are right I have trouble counting my money its all in pre decimal coinage,’ he added.
