Piers Morgan has backed Joe Rogan and lashed out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid the ongoing Spotify drama.

Writing a column for the New York Post, Piers penned: ‘Honestly, if it wasn’t for his (Joe Rogan’s) love of guns, tattoos and Bernie’s socialism – and of course, his weird accent – we could be twins.

‘I regularly listen to his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” and it’s a brilliantly free-wheeling, wide-ranging, sometimes combative, always fascinating series of conversations with people from all walks of life who hold all manner of opinions.

‘I don’t always agree with what Rogan or his guests say, but why should I?

‘We’re not living in North Korea, we’re allowed to hold different views from each other.’

Piers also referenced the ‘ferocious firestorm’ that’s designed to ‘cancel’ his $100million (£74m) Spotify deal, and to silence his supposedly ‘dangerous’ thoughts.

Summing up his column, he wrote: ‘Spotify should do us all a favor by tearing up Meghan and Harry’s contract and giving their money to Joe Rogan for more of his shows.’

The Royals recently expressed their concern to Spotify for hosting ‘disinformation’.

The couple, who have a deal with the company reportedly worth £18million, released a statement on Sunday in which they stated that they had spoken to the music platform’s bosses regarding their concerns last April.

Joe has faced much criticism for his views on the Covid-19 vaccine, with many commenting that the popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience has been used to spread false details.

In their statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: ‘Since the inception of [their non-profit organisation] Archewell, we have worked to address the real-time global misinformation crisis.’

‘Hundreds of millions of people are affected by the serious harms of mis- and disinformation every day.

‘Last April, our co-founders began expressing concerns to our partners at Spotify about the all too real consequences of Covid misinformation on its platform.

‘We have continued to express our concerns to Spotify to ensure changes to its platform are made to help address this public health crisis.

‘We look to Spotify to meet this moment and are committed to continuing our work together as it does.’

This week, Neil Young led the charge to oppose his views by removing his work from streaming site Spotify. Joni Mitchell then followed suit.

The musician said that the podcast was spreading ‘false information’ about the Covid-19 vaccine, and that it was ‘potentially causing death’ to those who believed the disinformation.
