Next Sunderland manager odds: Man Utd legend Roy Keane and Grant McCann favourites, John Terry & Neil Lennon price drop
ROY KEANE is now a leading contender for the Sunderland job.
That’s according to bookmakers Ladbrokes, who’ve installed the Manchester United legend at 11/2 to succeed Lee Johnson at the Stadium of Light.

Johnson was relieved of his duties after last week’s 6-0 thrashing by Bolton.
The 40-year-old left the Wearsiders in third position, and less than 12 months after landing the club’s first victory at Wembley Stadium since 1973 when lifting the EFL Trophy.
But with Sunderland desperately trying to avoid a fifth-consecutive season in League One – owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus pulled the trigger.
And the Black Cats are now looking for their 12th boss in a decade.
The new boss will hope to ride the wave of optimism surrounding the club after some excellent January business that included the return of Jermain Defoe.
Another return could be on the horizon if Keane is appointed.

The no-nonsense Irishman managed Sunderland for 100 games and guided the club to promotion during his debut campaign in the 2006-2007 season.
A respectable 15th-placed finish would follow before he resigned in December 2008, citing differences with Ellis Short and Niall Quinn as the main factors in his decision.

However, Keane could represent a significant risk given he’s not managed since leaving Ipswich in 2011.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Grant McCann heads the betting in the race to replace Lee Johnson as things stand.
“And while John Terry’s odds are now on the drift, Roy Keane has emerged as a surprise frontrunner for a return to the Stadium of Light dugout.”
Grant McCann leads the betting at 7/4 having been relieved of his duties at Hull.
The 41-year-old led the Tigers to promotion from League One last season, finishing above Sunderland.
Alex Neil is next at 7/2 with Neil Warnock and Melbourne City head coach Patrick Kisnorbo following at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively.
John Terry and Neil Lennon are outsiders of the pack at 12s.
